Xbox One is now the official name of Microsoft Next Generation of Xbox. Industry has been referring to this next gen XBOX as Xbox 720 up until now when Microsoft announced the official name of Xbox One. Seems Microsoft is already thinking about Xbox future generations including Xbox Two or Xbox Infinity. Here is a photo and list of cool new features:
Xbox One has a Blu-ray player, and is said to be “practically silent” when running. The Xbox One features an 8-core CPU, 8GB of system memory, and a 500GB hard drive, Microsoft’s Marc Whitten announced today. The console uses a single system-on-a-chip (SoC) using a 40 nanometer process combining the GPU, CPU, memory, and more onto a single chip. A new Kinect sensor is being bundled with the console (JDSU a likely supplier): its camera, color depth, and motion-sensing abilities are improved, and voice is said to be more “conversational.” Xbox SmartGlass mobile apps are integrated with the One, interactive TV content is paired with shows, and a “snap mode” shows multiple apps a once. Electronic Arts (EA) is promising to develop titles from 4 sports franchises – FIFA, Madden, NBA Live, and UFC – in the next 12 months, aided by a new gaming engine.
