Will Ron Howard Rush box office reach $150 million by mid October ? … It is a long shot for a male-dominant movie but not out of reach for the legendary Ron Howard movie whose tag line is “if you make a mistake, you die”.

Daniel Bruhl is already well respected for his methodical acting and he shined in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastard. Chris Hemsworth is already the hollywood’s female magnet and the story has a blasting level of adrenaline.  In summary, Rush has all the needed components and the potential to reach $150 million in global box office by mid October and even pass the $300 million mark before the end of the year.

Here are the worldwide weekend box office estimates for the action drama Rush which had an estimated production cost of $38 million and estimated marketing and advertising cost of roughly $50 million:

For the weekend of September 29, 2013, Rush is expected to achieve an estimated weekend gross of $30 million domestically and $10 million internationally for a total of $40 million in world wide ticket sales from more than 10 territories.

For the weekend of October 06, 2013, Rush is estimated to reach a weekly gross of $30 million domestically and $30 million internationally for a total of $60 million in world wide weekly ticket sales from more than 50 territories.  That would represent a cumulative worldwide box office gross for Rush of approximately $100 million by the end of October 06, 2013.

For the weekend of October 13, 2013, Rush is estimated to reach a weekly gross of $20 million domestically and $20 million internationally for a total of $40 million in world wide weekly ticket sales from more than 50 territories.  That would represent a cumulative worldwide box office gross for Rush of approximately $150 million by the end of October 13, 2013.

For the weekend of October 20, 2013, Rush is estimated to reach a weekly gross of $10 million domestically and $20 million internationally for a total of $30 million in world wide weekly ticket sales from more than 50 territories.  That would represent a cumulative worldwide box office gross for Rush of approximately $180 million by the end of October 20, 2013.

Set against the glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing in the 1970s, the film is based on the a biography and about a great sporting rivalry between the methodical Austrian Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda (played by Daniel Bruhl ) and his handsome rival James Hunt (played by Chris Hemsworth ). The story follows their distinctly different personal styles on and off the track, their loves and the astonishing 1976 Formula One season and the 1976 crash that almost claimed Niki Lauda’s life. Mere weeks after the horrifying crash, Niki Lauda got behind the wheel to challenge his British rival, James Hunt to risk everything to become world champion in a sport with no margin for error.
