Terry led the Knights football team of Woodlawn High School where he attended to the AAA High School championship game in 1965. However the Knights lost the game to the Sulphur Tors 12-9. He attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana where he was member of the fraternity known as the Tau Kappa Epsilon. He was also a very active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was a spokesman at many banquets and events. He has been married and divorced three times, and he has two daughters Rachel and Erin from his third wife, Charlotte Hopkins. After he retired from the NFL Bradshaw revealed that he often suffered anxiety attacks after football games, he was also diagnosed with clinical depression. As an actor he appeared in numerous television commercials for companies like Radio Shack. He also had appearances on popular sitcoms such as Everybody Loves Raymond, Married with Children, and The League. Bradshaw has acted in several major motion pictures like Hooper in 1978 co-starring with Burt Reynolds in Cannonball Run, and Smokey and the Bandit II. In 1997 he hosted a short lived television series called Home Team with Terry Bradshaw. As of May 31, 2008 he was the first and only NFL player to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Bradshaw received his star on October 11, 2001. Currently Terry is the host of Today in America with Terry Bradshaw, produced by United States Television. This show features information on new trends in business as well as lifestyles. Terry is a devout Christian wrote a book titled Terry Bradshaw: Man of Steel. He has also written or co-written 4 other books and recorded 6 albums of country/western and gospel music.

Bradshaw was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, the second of three sons of Bill and Novis Bradshaw. He attended Woodlawn High School and led the Knights to the 1965 AAA High School Championship game where they lost to the Sulphur Tors 12-9. While at Woodlawn, he set a national record for throwing the javelin 245 feet. His exploits earned him a spot in the Sports Illustrated feature Faces In The Crowd. Bradshaw's successor as Woodlawn's starting quarterback was another future NFL standout, Joe Ferguson, whose Buffalo Bills Bradshaw's Steelers would defeat in a 1974 divisional playoff game.
