Rob Van Dam net worth: Rob Van Dam is an American professional wrestler who has a net worth of $5 million dollars. Rob Van Dam, also known as Robert Alex Szatkoswki, was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, and began his wrestling career in Ohio in the late 80s, after training under The Sheik. He was renamed Rob Van Dam by a promoter, due to his passing resemblance to Jean Claude Van Damme, and because of his previous martial arts training. He won his first regional wrestling title in 1992, and signed with World Championship Wrestling the same year. After four low-key years in the WCW, he signed with Extreme Championship Wrestling. The move proved to be a good one, and he became quite popular with fans, both as a solo wrestler, and as a tag-team with Sabu. After ECW folded, he went on to wrestle for World Wrestling Entertainment. He is a three-time World Champion, and has won a total of 21 championships over the course of his nearly 25-year wrestling career.
Robert "Rob" Alex Szatkowski (born December 18, 1970), better known by his ring name Rob Van Dam (frequently abbreviated to RVD), is an American professional wrestler and occasional actor currently signed to WWE . Van Dam is also known for his appearances with Extreme Championship Wrestling in the late 1990s and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in the early 2010s.
Van Dam is a three-time world champion, being the only wrestler in history to have held the WWE Championship, the ECW World Championship and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. He also held the ECW World Television Championship once, the ECW World Tag Team Championship twice, the WWE Intercontinental Championship six times, the WWF/E Hardcore Championship four times, the WWE European Championship once, the WWE World Tag Team Championship twice, the WWE Tag Team Championship once and the TNA X Division Championship once. All totaled, between WWF/E, ECW, and TNA, Van Dam has won 22 total championships and also the Money in the Bank.
In 2002, Van Dam was ranked the number one wrestler in the world by Pro Wrestling Illustrated. He was voted "Most Popular Wrestler" by readers of the magazine in 2001 and again in 2002.
Szatkowski grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan and graduated from Pennfield Senior High School.
Szatkowski made his first appearance on WWF television in 1987 in a skit with "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. At the time, DiBiase was selecting plants from the audience and offering to pay them to perform degrading acts and offered the 16 year old Szatkowski $100 to enter the ring and kiss his foot, which he did. This early appearance was later included as a bonus feature on WWE's Before They Were Superstars DVD and on WWE's Rob Van Dam: One of a Kind DVD.
