Nicklas Lidstrom was a professional ice hockey player with the net worth of $60 million. During his career Lidstrom has won many awards and trophies, among these are; World Championship Gold Medal Winner for Sweden, seven time winner of the Norris Trophy, twelve time NHL All STAR, 2002 Conne Smythe Trophy and many more. Nicklas Lidstrom is considered a legend in the history of Ice Hockey and the best defenseman of his time. In 2006 he was named Captain of the Detroit Red Wings and led them into victory, winning the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penquins. He was the first European Captain to win the Stanley Cup. He was captain of the Red Wings for his last six seasons. Although he considered retirement in 2010, he ended up signing for another season with the Red Wings. But in 2012 his decision to retire became official and beginning in July of 2012 has become a scout for the Detroit Red Wings. Nicklas Lidstrom was born in Krylbo, Sweden in 1970. Lidstrom is often referred to as Mr. Perfect or The Perfect Human. He always took a lot of pride in working hard, whether preparing for a season or during the season, and showing up every night.
Over his 20 NHL seasons, Lidstr?m won four Stanley Cups, seven James Norris Memorial Trophies as the NHL's top defensive player, one Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP, and has been voted into twelve NHL All-Star Games. Over the course of his career, Lidstr?m became the first European-born and trained NHL captain to win the Stanley Cup, as well as the first European player named playoff MVP. Lidstr?m is also the all-time leader in games played with only one NHL team and by a European-born player. Lidstr?m never missed the postseason in any of his 20 NHL seasons.
Representing Sweden, Lidstr?m won the World Championship in 1991. At the 2006 Winter Olympics, Lidstr?m was a major factor in Sweden's win over Finland in the finals, scoring the gold medal clinching goal, thus earning him a spot on the Olympic All-Star Team. He also became the 17th member of the Triple Gold Club. The Hockey News selected Lidstr?m as the "Best European-trained player ever in the NHL". The Sporting News and Sports Illustrated selected Lidstr?m as the "NHL Player of the Decade".
Lidstr?m is considered one of the top defenseman of his generation and a legend of the game, as indicated by his numerous Norris Trophies as the NHL's best defenseman three consecutive seasons from 2000-01 to 2002-03 and again from 2005-06 to 2007-08.
